getTV ROUNDS UP A POSSE OF CLASSIC WESTERNS WITH THEMED BLOCKS FEATURING GLENN FORD & ROCK HUDSON, AND A NEW WEDNESDAY LINEUP HIGHLIGHTING RARE WESTERN TV SERIES STARTING FEB. 3 AT 8 p.m. ET

 

The Month also Includes a New Addition to the Saturday Showdown Block, Debuting the Rare 1958 George Montgomery Series CIMARRON CITY on February 20 at 2 p.m.

 

CULVER CITY, CA – Monday, February 1, 2016 – Saddle up with getTV for a weekend block of Old West favorites, riding into town every Saturday at 7 p.m. ET. This month’s lineup presents a variety of themed blocks, putting the spotlight on Civil War Westerns and Western crime thrillers starring Rock HudsonWilliam HoldenAudie Murphy, and Fred MacMurray, among others, and paying tribute to beloved genre stars Glenn Ford and Randolph Scott.

Also in February, the network will unveil a new addition to the Saturday Showdown block, with the rarely seen series CIMARRON CITY, starring George Montgomery and John Smith, debuting on February 20 at 2 p.m. ET. Additionally, the network will present an all-new block highlighting individual series from the Saturday Showdown lineup—which includes LAREDO, starring Neville BrandWHISPERING SMITH, starring Audie Murphy; and HONDO, starring James Garner—every Wednesday night in primetime, beginning February 3 at 8 p.m. ET.

getTV’s Westerns programming schedule is as follows:

Civil War—Sat., Feb. 6 at 7 p.m. ET

The Civil War rages on in this block of Western epics, as desperate Confederate Richard Widmark schemes to get William Holden to steal a herd of Union cattle in Edward Dmytryk’s 1966 drama ALVAREZ KELLY. And Western favorite—and real life war hero—Audie Murphy goes from prisoner to deputy, on a mission to bring down his former gang in ARIZONA RAIDERS, at 9:45 p.m. ET.

Western Crime—Sat., Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. ET

getTV delivers Old West justice with a night of Western Crime classics starring Fred MacMurray as a wrongly accused man on the run in a small border town in FACE OF A FUGITIVE, with James Coburn and Lin McCarthy. And Rock Hudson rides out for vengeance against the thieves who kidnapped his fiancé, Donna Reed, in GUN FURY, with Philip CareyLee Marvin, and Neville Brand, at 9 p.m. ET.

Glenn Ford—Sat., Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. ET

getTV pays tribute to beloved leading man Glenn Ford with a primetime two-pack starring Ford as a cowhand who finds trouble when he spurns the advances of an unhappy housewife in JUBAL, with Ernest Borgnine and Charles Bronson. And Ford finds love, riches, and despair in the cursed Superstition Mountains in LUST FOR GOLD, with Ida LupinoGig Young, and Edgar Buchanan, at 9:30 p.m. ET.

 

Randolph Scott—Sat., Feb. 27 at 7 p.m. ET

Ride off into the sunset with Western icon Randolph Scott in two of his finest films, as he comes to the rescue of wealthy heiress Maureen O’Sullivan in the 1957 Elmore Leonard adaptation THE TALL T, with Richard Boone, and Chris Olsen. Then, Scott stars as a reformed outlaw whose past comes back to haunt him in THE DOOLINS OF OKLAHOMA, with George Macready and John Ireland, at 9 p.m. ET.

CIMARRON CITY—Saturday Showdown—Sat., Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. ET

Also this month, getTV expands its “Saturday Showdown” block of rare Western TV series, introducing the rarely seen 1958 adventure CIMARRON CITY on February 20 at 2 p.m. ET, with George Montgomery as the mayor of a burgeoning Oklahoma boom town, starring alongside sheriff John Smith, future BONANZA star Dan Blocker, and Film Noir icon Audrey Totter. The series featured a number of notable guest stars during its single-season run, such as fan favorites Fred MacMurrayLeonard NimoyElizabeth MontgomeryJohn CarradinePeter GravesDean StockwellLee Van Cleef, and George Hamilton, among others.
