CULVER CITY, CA – Thursday, December 22, 2016 – getTV kicks off a new year of classic films and rare series, with a January lineup offering heartfelt tributes, new programming additions, and more—airing in primetime, all month long. The roster is headlined by a month-long Cher double-shot, featuring appearances by David BowieMuhammad Ali, and Carol Burnett; and also includes Sally Field in the 1973 sitcom THE GIRL WITH SOMETHING EXTRAKurt Russell and Tim Matheson in the 1976 Western series THE QUESTRichard Burgi in the 1996 sci-fi hit THE SENTINEL; an all-day HONDO marathon; a Sunday night Tom Selleck birthday block; stunts starring Betty WhiteCarol Burnett and Lucille Ball; and more.

Get Lost In TV Overnight Slot—Every Sunday at 12 a.m. ET, Starting January 1

Stay up late with getTV, as the network unveils a new Get Lost In TV overnight block, every Sunday at 12 a.m. ET, starting on Jan. 1 with John Cassavetes as a piano-playing P.I. in five episodes of JOHNNY STACCATO. Next, on Jan. 8, Perry KingJoe Penny, and Thom Bray star as crime solving Vietnam vets in five episodes of Stephen J. Cannell’s RIPTIDE. Then, tune in for a pair of California crime dramas on Jan. 15, with Steve Forrester and Robert Urich in three episodes of S.W.A.T., and Howard DuffBen Alexander, and Dennis Cole in three episodes of FELONY SQUAD. getTV celebrates comedy’s funniest ladies on Jan. 22, featuring Betty White and THE GOLDEN GIRLS on THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW at 11 p.m. ET, as well as classic specials starring Carol BurnettLucille BallMary Tyler MooreAnn-Margret, and Minnie Pearl. HONDO Marathon—Mon., January 2, Starting at 6 a.m. ET

Saddle up with getTV for a daylong HONDO marathon, featuring all 17 episodes of the 1967 Western. Based on the 1953 John Wayne drama of the same name—which was inspired by Louis L'Amour's novel—HONDO stars Ralph Taeger as a former Confederate tasked with preventing further violence between settlers and the Apache tribes. Guests include Annette FunicelloRobert Reed, and Ricky Nelson. Exclusive interstitial content will air throughout, highlighting series producer Andrew Fenady in five “A Word On HONDO” segments as he opens up about working with Wayne, L’Amour, Taeger, and Robert Taylor, and discusses how the show performed on air.

 

New Daytime Programming Block Additions—Weekdays, Starting Tuesday, Jan. 3

getTV welcomes three additions to the daytime programming lineup starting on Tuesday, Jan. 3, with Sally Field in THE GIRL WITH SOMETHING EXTRA at 7:20 a.m. ET; Josh Brolin in THE YOUNG RIDERS, airing Monday-Thursday at 11 a.m. ET, Fridays at 9 a.m. ET, and weekdays at 6 p.m. ET; and Richard Burgi in THE SENTINEL, weekdays at 4 p.m. ET. THE GIRL WITH SOMETHING EXTRA (1973)Sally Field stars in this rare 1973 sitcom as a newlywed whose ability to read peoples’ minds throws her and her husband (John Davidson) into a variety of wacky hijinks. The show co-starred Zohra Lampert and Jack Sheldon, with appearances by Farrah FawcettMerv GriffinDon KnottsDick Van PattenTeri Garr, and Stephanie Edwards.

 

THE YOUNG RIDERS (1989)—This Emmy®-winning series takes a fictional look at some of the Pony Express’ youngest—and most famous—members, led by Josh Brolin as James Butler Hickock, and Stephen Baldwin as William F. Cody, with Melissa Leo as the caretaker of the wild bunch. The network will highlight the series in the Get Lost In TV block, airing four episodes back-to-back every Wednesday in January at 9 p.m. ET. Guests include David CarradineCynthia Nixon, and Della Reese.

 

THE SENTINEL (1996)Richard Burgi stars in this hard-hitting sci-fi thriller as Detective Jim Ellison, a man who unwittingly possesses hyperactive senses, which he acquired years earlier as a Special Forces soldier in the Peruvian jungle. Teaming with a young anthropologist (Garett Maggart), Ellison puts his new skills to the test as he sets out to keep the streets of Cascade, Washington safe. New Westerns Block Additions—Starting Saturday, Jan. 7

getTV expands its Saturday Westerns posse, with YANCY DERRINGER at 1:20 p.m. ET, and THE QUEST at 7 p.m. ET. Series information is as follows:

 

YANCY DERRINGER (1958)Jock Mahoney rolls the dice as Yancy Derringer, a suave gamblin’ man—and former Confederate—working undercover as a secret agent to fight crime and restore justice in 1868 New Orleans, with the help of his Pawnee sidekick (X Brands). Guests include Charles BronsonClaude Akins and Lee Van Cleef.

 

THE QUEST (1976)—Kidnapped by Cheyenne Indians as a child, Morgan Beaudine (Kurt Russell) is finally reunited with his brother (Tim Matheson) after years apart. Together, they ride out to rescue their sister, who still lives with the tribe. Guests include Erik EstradaGeorge LazenbyAldo RayCameron Mitchell, and Susan Dey.

 

CHER Double-Shot—Every Monday in January, Starting at 9 p.m. ET

getTV puts the spotlight on some of Cher’s most defining television moments every Monday in January, pairing rotating episodes of THE SONNY & CHER COMEDY HOUR and THE SONNY & CHER SHOW at 9 p.m. ET, with specially chosen episodes of the 1975 series CHER at 10 p.m. ET.

 

January 9

The month begins with THE ODD COUPLE star Tony Randall on THE SONNY & CHER SHOW, at 9 p.m. ET; followed by groundbreaking rock icon David Bowie at 10 p.m. ET—commemorating his birthday on Jan. 8 and the 1ST Anniversary of his passing on Jan. 10—performing his #1 single “Fame,” before joining Cher on “Can You Hear Me” and a “Young Americans” medley.

 

January 16

Sonny & Cher step into the ring with Muhammad Ali on THE SONNY & CHER COMEDY HOUR at 8 p.m. ET, in a night of laughs pitting Cher and Ali against each other in a fight for the Heavyweight Poetry Championship of the World. And, at 10 p.m. ET, Redd Foxx brings his trademark wit to a slate of fun sketches, followed by Cher’s duet with R&B trio LaBelle on “What Can I Do For You?” and “Lady Marmalade.”

 

January 23

Sonny & Cher spoof the theater and the news with comedy legends Betty White and Flip Wilson, and put their classic spin on Stevie Wonder’s “My Cherie Amour” on THE SONNY & CHER SHOW at 9 p.m. ET. Then, at 10 p.m. ET, Cher kicks off the first episode of her solo series with a star-studded event featuring duets with Elton JohnBette Midler, and Flip Wilson in a lively medley, followed by a hilarious skit with Wilson, Cher, and Midler as elderly entertainers in the year 2025.

 

January 30

getTV salutes THE CAROL BURNETT SHOW, with series standout Harvey Korman on THE SONNY AND CHER COMEDY HOUR at 9 p.m. ET. Then, Cher welcomes beloved comedienne Carol Burnett at 10 p.m. ET, in a charming episode that includes a “$24,663.89 Pyramid” parody, and a rare joint appearance with Cher and her second-husband Gregg Allman.

 

Tom Selleck Birthday Block—Sun., January 29 at 4:40 p.m. ET

getTV celebrates fan-favorite leading man Tom Selleck on his 72ND Birthday, starring as a soldier fighting to reclaim his home in Elmore Leonard’s LAST STAND AT SABER RIVER, with Keith Carradine, and David Carradine, at 4:40 p.m. ET. Then, at 7 p.m. ET, Selleck and Viola Davis star in back-to-back thrillers with JESSE STONE: SEA CHANGE, and JESSE STONE: DEATH IN PARADISE at 9 p.m. ET.
