getTV SALUTES POP SUPERSTAR TOM JONES WITH A TRIO OF CLASSIC APPEARANCES FEATURING JONES ON THE SONNY & CHER SHOW, MAC DAVIS – SOUNDS LIKE HOME WITH DOLLY PARTON & DONNA SUMMER, AND THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW – TWO NIGHT EVENT STARTS SUNDAY, MARCH 26

CULVER CITY, CA – Monday, March 20, 2017 – getTV puts the spotlight on GRAMMY®-winning pop sensation Tom Jones, with a trio of classic variety show appearances as the entertainment icon goes toe-to-toe with some of music’s biggest names. The lineup includes Jones joining Merv Griffin for a candid conversation on THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, airing Sunday, March 26, at 11 p.m. ET/8 p.m. PT, as part of the network’s Sunday overnight “Get Lost In TV” block celebrating TV rarities. And performances by Jones on THE SONNY AND CHER SHOW on Monday, March 27 at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, followed by the star-studded special MAC DAVIS: SOUNDS LIKE HOME, with Dolly Parton, at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.

The tribute to Tom Jones kicks off on Sunday, March 26, with Jones on a rare 1980 episode of THE MERV GRIFFIN SHOW, at 11 p.m. ET. During the spirited appearance, Jones sits down with the legendary talk show pioneer to discuss his incredible career, his life on the road, and his legendary friendship with rock n’ roll superstar Elvis Presley, before ending the evening with a performance of some his biggest songs. And this particular episode also includes comedian Jay Leno, a decade before he became the host of “The Tonight Show.”

The event continues on Monday, March 27, with a rare 1976 episode of the THE SONNY & CHER SHOW at 9 p.m. ET, featuring a spirited duet with Cher on “Resurrection Shuffle”, and hilarious skits starring Jones and Cher as a fairy-tale king and queen with a very peculiar son, followed by Jones and Sonny Bono as two of the seven dwarves putting a hilarious twist on some of Jones’ most beloved songs.

Then, Jones guest stars in the 1977 special MAC DAVIS – SOUNDS LIKE HOME at 10 p.m. ET, where he puts his versatility on full display in a night of unforgettable music headlined by a powerful gospel medley featuring Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, and Mac Davis. The special also includes Parton singing her favorite written song “Coat of Many Colors;” comedian George Carlin performs hilarious stand up comedy about common household words and phrases; and Summer sings a beautiful rendition of the Leon Russell American classic “A Song for You.”
