getTV ADDS TWO CLASSIC SERIES TO THE SUNDAY WESTERNS BLOCK THIS FEBRUARY, WITH DAVID CARRADINE IN THE RARE 1966 ADVENTURE SHANE, & THE BELOVED 1977 HIT THE LIFE & TIMES OF GRIZZLY ADAMS

CULVER CITY, CA – Monday, January 23, 2017 – getTV expands its popular Sunday Westerns posse, as the beloved 1977 adventure series THE LIFE AND TIMES OF GRIZZLY ADAMS moves into the weekly 9 a.m. ET slot with a Super Bowl Sunday marathon on February 5, while the rare 1966 David Carradine Western SHANE takes over at 10 a.m. ET starting February 12. In addition to these two classic series, the network will air the 1984 action series BLUE THUNDER in a special Get Lost In TV nine-episode marathon on Sunday, February 26, starting at 10 p.m. ET.

getTV is rooting for the Bears this Super Bowl Sunday, as THE LIFE AND TIMES OF GRIZZLY ADAMS returns to television with an all-day marathon featuring eight classic episodes on February 5, at 9 a.m. ET. The fan-favorite series stars Dan Haggerty as the titular mountain man who flees into the wilderness after being falsely accused of murder. Aided by his bear Ben, mountain trader Mad Jack (Denver Pyle), and Native guide Nakoma (Don Shanks), Grizzly devotes himself to saving the local wildlife and helping any visitors in need. Guests include Keenan Wynn, Russ Tamblyn, and Slim Pickens.

In the rare 1966 Western series SHANE, David Carradine shines in one of his earliest starring roles, as a drifting gunfighter who helps protect a young widow (Jill Ireland) from a villainous baron, while also acting as a father figure for her young son. The series is based on the Oscar®-winning 1953 Western of the same name, starring Alan Ladd, Van Heflin, and Jean Arthur. Guests include Robert Duvall, Diane Ladd, and Charles Grodin. SHANE premieres on getTV on February 12 at 10 a.m. ET.

Inspired by the Oscar®-nominated 1983 crime drama of the same name, BLUE THUNDER features SNL icon Dana Carvey in his first starring role, as a rookie cop who helps a seasoned Lieutenant (James Farentino) fight crime in Los Angeles using a high-tech helicopter. The series co-starred NFL legends Dick Butkus and Bubba Smith, with guest appearances by Ray Wise, Kelly Preston, Kurtwood Smith, and Ken Foree. getTV will air nine episodes of the series, as well as its cinematic namesake—starring Roy Scheider and Malcolm McDowell—in a special Get Lost In TV event on February 26 at 10 p.m. ET.
